Google Analytics is bloated

People love Google and I'm not an exception too. But that does not make it necessary to take it for granted that everything Google is godlike. I don't believe that 'Googliness is Godliness' (my take on cleanliness is godliness). And adding to my agony (besides Google Chrome), Google Analytics is playing fowl with my website for months. Some friend of mine recommended it to me and I accepted (now I'm feeling guilty of it). Google Analytics is shit, a pure piece of crap. It makes your site a helluva slow, add to its latency, spy on what you are doing with Adsense and also after all those craps, does not show actual and accurate stats at the end of the day. And did I mention that it also can't track the traffic in real time? Not so Google like, which applied a great layer of AJAX and JavaScript to all of it's major apps like Gmail or Reader that works.

I am still relying on my awstats, and that's great for me now. I don't needed to set a goal to catch up, I don't need to see flashy graphical representations of all the stats you are provided with. I just want a simple, low on bandwidth but accurate and detailed statistical system and awstats is providing it with pleasure.

Google Chrome for Mac is almost there? Yes and No

Google's Mike Pinkerton, one of those devs working hard to get Google Chrome in Mac OS X as early as possible, posted some developer build screenshots of Google Chrome in his blog. But before even we are jumping to rejuvenate the event, here's what the author is saying himself,

Now mind you, clicking doesn't work, and the renderers crash like nobody's business, but the other great thing is that the user interface stays running even if they do. Just open a new tab and keep going! It's important to point out that's part of what's taken us so long to get to this point. The WebKit that ships as part of Mac OS X can't run this way -- it took a lot of work to marshall it to do so. In addition, the UI clearly needs much love, but it's an indicator of the clean and simple direction we're heading.

So it seems that we still have to wait for devs to make their ends meet and Google Chrome for Mac is definitely not coming before Q2.

Newly discovered bacteria can bring 'I Am Legend' scenario into reality

Did you enjoy watching people all over the world go insane and beast-like in 2007 Will Smith starrer 'I Am Legend'? Then the newly discovered bacterium DNA in Siberian mammoth graves will likely to interest you.

The Russian scientists are claiming to have discovered this new type of DNA that can effectively increase life and sexuality of human being, according to preliminary tests made on mice. People will grow more lively and in fact 'sexier' when these new types of DNA is effectively induced into human bodies. So, the world of 'I Am Legend' is near, isn't it? Tell me here, how you people are preparing to take the role of Will Smith in real life?

MS is too busy to select a proper IE icon

I know MS is a 'BIG' multinational company and they are always busy with their own 'jobs'. But when it comes to development of Internet Explorer (a slowly dying browser, poisoned by Firefox), they should take some extra care to retain its lost share. Now, they even did not have the time to set a proper icon for IE8 RC1, that's disappointing. #FAIL

Wakoopa & Last.fm - Share what you are using and listening

Social networking was not my forte just two months ago, I was not much into it. Just a bit of Twittering here & there and small visits to Facebook, that was all. 2009 changed the scene a lot, I went on being a regular on Twitter and Facebook. Among other things in Social Networking, Wakoopa and Last.fm helped me a lot to share alike.

Back to the days of hackintosh, when I was using Leopard in my PC, I liked an app called AppFresh. It used to fetch all the info about applications I worked with in Leopard and then synchronized them with osx.iusethis.com. The best thing with it was its capability to check if I was using latest version of softwares. Back on Vista and now Windows 7 beta, I thought if there were something with same functionality available in Windows, it would really help to track my applications. After getting through some complicated apps and wasting time on them, I found Wakoopa.com. The concept of Wakoopa is moreover same with that of iusethis.com but Wakoopa interface really rocks, quite Web2.0-esque and fluid. They also have a tracker software to download from their site which automatically starts up while user boots into Windows and track user's application usage and website visit histories while running in the background. One can also add some friends and grow networking in Wakoopa which also enables to check what they are using.

None needs a introduction to Last.fm, I just discovered (lame I know, I came so late) its amazing capabilities and connectivity options. A real lot of people is using the service already, so it's likely that you will find your friends are there already; well, I already found the same. Last.fm really shows how music listening experience sharing can be splendid. Add their online radio support in that, we get a winner here.

One month with Windows 7

Today, I just completed my first one month with Windows 7 Beta (Build 7000). And it is time to look back on it, well at least on some part of it. The OS is itself huge and superflulos in someway for me. I just went through the necessary one and in opposite to Microsoft's suggestion to use each and every feature in the OS, I don't like to play with what I don't need.

Performace boosts, among other things is easily noticeable and perhaps the most discussed subject about Windows 7. I will also tell about reliability and compatibility. I did not see a beta to be such stable ever, and it easily recognize all of my existing hardwares in one go. MS still need to work on some glitches and put up make ups on some dark spots. Still, I'm satisfied the way it is evolving. I'll write more extensively in my website today. Keep going MS!

A Twitter client or from the web?

Twitter is delicious, and essential. But how about a Twitter client? People have thrown a lot of options in the web, especially with Adobe AIR (bandwidth consuming behemoth). I found Chirp (an WPF based app) to be most attractive of them all for Windows but it's downsides are annoying me so much. It would hang without notice and don't know any manners as how to serve a master. So I'm sticking to the web format for now, till I install Mac in my new laptop or buy that iPod Touch 16GB.

posterous...a lot better look than Tumblr

My first take on posterous, it's got the look. At least it's nicer than default Tumblr theme. I don't know if I still need to move back on Tumblr, posterous is consuming me.

First step on Posterous

Posterous, yet another microbloggin tool? It seemed to me that way, when I heard about it from my friend Manan yesterday. Wasn't much interested in it, but today I just thought why don't I give it a try? I am already in Tumblr, so one more of these looks time wasting but when I actually got here, it posed as a pleasant surprise to me. The look and feel is nice and clearer than Tumblr, much like a Mac. And this is my first post here, let's spare sometime for it and dig it out.
